Ben Dearnley Fragments of our Time

After spending 20 years as a musical instrument technician in London, Ben retrained as a sculptor at the University of the Arts London, at Camberwell, and later in the Italian studios of Tuscany. In the years since making this mid-life transition he has fast gained a reputation for the beauty of his sculptural works.

“My work is ever evolving and draws on my own personal experiances. I have a deep love for the masters of the past: Rodin, Michelangelo and Canova, to name just a few. Each of these sculptors has one thing in common they are all involved with the figure and its expressive nature of truth and beauty. It is here that I find the deepest resonance with my own practice and the joy I find when creating new and dramatic works is simply more fuel to my creative fire.""
His work is in The Royal Academy of Music strings Mesuem, London, and in many private collections around the world. With large public commissions in the cities of Bath, Bristol and the Welsh Assembly, and corporate clients such as British Telecomm, Aviva and Bacardi, Ben has gained a reputation for the quality of his work and is a highly committed sculptor who brings his own unique style to this ancient form of art.
